The FFSAPI-SARGEN Handline Fisheries Improvement Project held a comprehensive project presentation and update session on February 11, 2025 at Venue 88, General Santos City.

DOLE Region 12 convened industry stakeholders on February 4, 2025, in General Santos City for the Fishing and Allied Services Industry Tripartite Council (ITC) Meeting. This gathering brought together private employers, workers, labor groups, processors, and government agencies to address key challenges in the fishing sector and enhance industry collaboration.

The Department of Labor and Employment Region 12 has expressed its full support for the FIP during a collaborative meeting held on January 23, 2025 at SFFAII Office.

A petition was submitted by industry representatives from the Philippines during the 21st Regular Session of the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC), held from November 28 to December 3, 2024, in Suva, Fiji.
