On March 10, 2025, a meeting was held at the Office of the Municipal Mayor in Maasim, Sarangani Province to address tuna traceability concerns related to catches unloaded in Maasim and transported to the General Santos City Fishport Complex without proper documentation.

A high-level consultation focused on enhancing tuna traceability to align with international market and export requirements was organized by the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR-12), and Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA).
